Selecting the right venue is one of the most important decisions you will make during the wedding planning process! Make the most of your venue tours and communications by asking the right questions!

ACCESS

Will we be able to access the space the day prior to the wedding or on the wedding morning?

Can we host our rehearsal dinner at the venue?

When can we access the space for our rehearsal?

Do you have an onsite bridal and grooms suite?

Is parking available and free?

PAYMENT & PRICING

Can you send me a proposal for the total rental fee - all extra fees included?

What payment plans do you offer?

Do you require event insurance?

SPACE DETAILS

What is your maximum seated capacity?

Can we host both our ceremony and reception here?

Do you have example floor plans?

What are all of the ceremony space options?

If it is an outdoor venue - what is the rain plan?

Is there a kitchen onsite that we will have access to?

Is the venue ADA accessible?

DECOR & RENTALS

Do you allow wedding tent rentals?

Do you offer any rental add-on’s?

Do you include any decor or signage?

Do you provide table linens?

Are there any restrictions on lighting candles?

VENDORS

Do you have any vendor partners that offer exclusive discounts to your couples?

Do you have a list of required vendors or can we choose whoever we would like?

If the venue requires in-house catering, then what is the food & beverage minimum?

Can we bring in our own alcohol?

SETUP & BREAKDOWN

Do you set up furniture?

What time can we start setting up?

Can we clean up and pick decorations up the next day?

What parts of clean-up are we responsible for?

TECH

Is there a sound system onsite or does a DJ need to provide one?

Do you provide microphones?

Do you have wifi for vendors?

Are there noise constrictions or curfews?

ACCOMMODATIONS & TRANSPORTATION

Do you have any onsite accommodations?

Do you recommend any hotels nearby for accommodations?

Do you offer guest shuttles?

Are guests allowed to park cars at the venue overnight?

A lot of these questions are typically answered in venue brochures, on their website, or in the initial informational email! However, before a venue tour - and definitely before booking - I would go through this list and ask any of the questions that are still unanswered after looking over their materials!
